Painting With Acrylics

This class is designed to teach the basics in acrylic painting for portraits (not landscapes). You will learn how to sketch, mix colors, blend and paint. Although there are many types of brushes, you will learn the specific brush type needed for the project you will be working on. You will also learn how to clean and maintain your brushes so they can last longer. Each class will begin with a brief demonstration of how to put all of this together to create your masterpiece!

Students are required to bring the following items to class:

- a photo to use as reference

- a variety of acrylic paints: black, white, yellow, blue, green, red, and brown

- a variety of brushes, both flat and round

- a palette that can be closed or covered

- a cup or jar to be used for holding water

- a roll of paper towels
