Summary
In this class you will learn how to become a Notary Public in the State of North Carolina. The instructor will review general provisions and standards, commissioning, notarial acts - powers and limitations, fees, signature and seal, certificate forms, changes in status, and enforcement - sanctions and remedies. During the class, you will learn notary timelines and tips, complete the Application for Initial Appointment as a North Carolina Notary Public, and take the State Notary Public Examination. In advance of the class, purchase and read the required textbook: North Carolina Notary Public Manual - 2026 Edition which can be purchased through the UNC School of Government website here: https://books.sog.unc.edu/, or Craven Community College Bookstore. There are no refunds for this class unless cancelled by Craven Community College.
