Ukulele Music Camp

Glazed & Amazed

Welding

Summer Welding Skills Camp is a hands-on day camp where students get an introduction to welding in a fun, structured shop environment. Campers will learn proper safety practices and shop etiquette while gaining experience with basic layout and measuring, oxyacetylene cutting fundamentals, and an introduction to MIG welding. With close supervision and step-by-step instruction, students will build confidence using tools and equipment the right way—focused on safe habits, quality basics, and pride in their work. No prior experience needed. Open to rising 9th through 12th graders. Camp registration deadline is May 1, 2026.

Creative Hands

Automotive Skills Camp

Summer Auto Skills Camp is a hands-on day camp where students learn the basics of car care in a fun, safe shop-style environment. Campers will practice real-world skills like checking and topping off fluids, changing oil (demo and guided practice), inspecting tires, and safely changing a flat. Along the way, they’ll learn tool safety, how to read a dashboard, what common warning lights mean, and simple maintenance tips that build confidence and independence. Building Giants

Building Giants Building Giants is an exciting, hands-on experience designed for creative builders ages 12–14 who want to explore what it takes to build massive ships. Hosted at Craven Community College’s Havelock Campus, this free camp introduces students to the world of maritime and advanced manufacturing through interactive labs and real-world applications. Campers will gain exposure to metal fabrication techniques including welding, sheet metal work, laser technology, and machining, while also learning blueprint reading, precision measurement, and workplace safety standards. Campers will put their skills to the test by designing and 3D printing their own object and constructing an operational model submarine—then submerging it to see if it floats! With lunch included and expert guidance throughout the week, Building Giants offers a fun, engaging, and educational introduction to high-demand technical careers.
