The Waitlist Registration is available. If a seat becomes available, we will contact you to confirm your enrollment.
Building Giants is an exciting, hands-on experience designed for creative builders ages 12–14 who want to explore what it takes to build massive ships.
Hosted at Craven Community College’s Havelock Campus, this free camp introduces students to the world of maritime and advanced manufacturing through interactive labs and real-world applications. Campers will gain exposure to metal fabrication techniques including welding, sheet metal work, laser technology, and machining, while also learning blueprint reading, precision measurement, and workplace safety standards.
Campers will put their skills to the test by designing and 3D printing their own object and constructing an operational model submarine—then submerging it to see if it floats!
With lunch included and expert guidance throughout the week, Building Giants offers a fun, engaging, and educational introduction to high-demand technical careers.
Schedule:
Monday-Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
